This website sets no cookies and shows no advertising. It doesn't build a profile of you or follow you around the web, and there's no account. Your Light or Dark choice is saved only in your own browser and is never sent to us.
Like every website, this one is delivered by a web host. To deliver pages and block attacks, it processes each visitor's IP address and basic request details, such as the page requested and the browser used. SST uses that information only to keep the site secure, never to identify or follow visitors.
We use our web host's page counter to see how the site is used. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. When a page loads, your browser sends the host the page's address, the site that linked you here, your type of browser and device, and how quickly the page loaded. The host says it doesn't use this to recognize individual visitors. We see only totals, such as how many times each page was viewed and from which countries.
If something on a page breaks, your browser sends us a short error note: what kind of error it was, a brief description, which of our files and lines it came from, and which page you were on. The note never includes your IP address, your browser details, anything you typed, or anything else that could tell us who you are. A logging service keeps these notes for the person who maintains the site and deletes them within 30 days.
We never sell any of this or use it for advertising. If you'd like to know which companies host the site, keep its error notes, store form messages, and build and run the site for SST, email us and we'll tell you.
If you use the contact form, we collect your name, your email address, your message, and your organization and topic if you give them. Your message is saved in a database another company runs for us, and then, unless our spam check flags it, our web host emails it to Bill. The company that builds and runs this site for SST gets a short email saying a message arrived, but not what you wrote, and can read the saved copy to keep the form working.
Our web host limits how many messages one internet connection can send in a minute, to stop abuse. Your IP address isn't saved with your message or sent to the database.
When you press Send, a small script adds how long this page was open, so our spam check can catch forms sent faster than a person types. It reads nothing you typed, stores nothing on your device, and sends nothing on its own. We don't save that number.
Messages our spam check flags are never emailed. Some flagged messages aren't saved at all. We keep saved messages as SST's record of each conversation. Once a day we delete flagged ones that are more than 14 days old. A deleted message can stay in the database company's own records for a short time before it's erased for good. The copies in our mailboxes stay until we delete them.
We use what you send, by form or by email, to answer you and to follow up on what you asked about. If you ask us to connect you with a partner, we pass on only what that introduction needs. We never sell it or use it for marketing.
To ask us to delete what you've sent, email bill@sustainablesupport.org. We'll delete it from our database and from our mailboxes unless the law requires us to keep it. Page counts and error notes aren't linked to any person, so there's nothing in them that could be traced back to you.
This notice covers this website only, not the Sustainable Gardens app. This site isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
